Trump hates dogs because dogs hate Trump! I’m no expert on dogs but in my neighborhood I am known as the dog whisperer. Their incredible ability to sense a good person from a bad person still amazes me! I love dogs and agree with the old saying that dogs are man’s best friend. I walk my dog and many of my neighbor’s dogs.
Since I love furry mammals more than furless ones, I never took offense to being called a cat lady. At one time I had ten cats in my household, not because I wanted ten cats, but because I never learned to say no. I usually had dogs too. I also have had a skunk, a monkey, horses, goats, cattle and pigs as well as four children. Currently, because I am very old and living in a small apartment I share with only one cat. So JD Vance can take his dislike of furry mammals and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.
For me, a particularly funny little anecdote is that, just as Vance came out with his totally insane rant hating both cats and women... and I knew nothing about that yet.... in almost the same breath, I wrote a tribute of praise for Kamala Harris. It should come as no surprise that the Republicans have absolutely no evidence to support their allegations. They just know that their base is so conspiracy theory-addled at this point that they can serve up whatever deranged slop they want and conservative voters will swallow it down without so much as a moment of introspection.
All of which is to say that the desperation wafting off these impeachment efforts bodes well for our chances this November. Republicans really have nothing to run on and no genuine criticisms they can pin on Harris. Their nominee for president is the man who repealed Roe v. Wade, a reviled convicted felon in an obvious state of cognitive decline. They should be panicking.
Meanwhile, Democrats are promising material improvements to Americans’ lives. Kamala Harris stands for reproductive rights, expanded healthcare, a stronger middle class, paid family leave, child care, and revitalized unions. She stands for the rule of law while Donald Trump represents its complete dissolution.
We can win this election so long as we take nothing for granted. Spread the message, convince your friends to vote blue, and show up to save our democracy. Stay focused, stay energized.
